Bought from Good Guys Preston as they recommended this German model against Bosch's Asian built one. After spending $2K plus 3 years extended warranty, I thought it would last as long as my old Kleenmaid did - 20 years. Alas, i was sadly mistaken, it only lasted 6 and a bit years. It would have cost me around $700 to fix error F57 so bought a Choice recommended Fisher and Paykel front loader with 4 years extended warranty and will see how long this one lasts for. Won't buy Bosch ever again. In regards to washing the clothes I'll give it 5 stars. In regards to value for money I'll give it 2 stars.
I purchased my Bosch washing machine about 6 years ago and paid $2,000.00. I was a bit hesitant spending this amount of money. But the sales person pointed out what you pay is what you get and being German made it will outlast my previous LG washing machine(purchased the LG for $800.00 and lasted 10 years). Well after 6 years (only doing about 4 to 5 loads a week) the Bosch washing machine stopped working during washing. Called the service guy out and need to spend about $1,000.00 to fix it.
Decided not to fix it and put the money towards a new one. Extremely disappointed with this Bosch product only lasting 6 years after spending $2,000.00. Obviously German made isn't what it use to be. I'm definitely not buying another Bosch product especially when you need to pay top dollar and it doesn't last.

I thought when I purchased my Bosch washing machine I'll was getting a product that will last 10 years plus. Only a 2 year warranty on this Bosch product. Well that only tells you how confident they really are. Have had minor issues (door handle replacement and intermittent faulting) over the past 5 years. 2 months before my machine's 6th anniversary I got the F:57 error on completing a load of washing (needless to say, washing was on the inside and I couldn't get it out!) after hours of scouring the net and unable to determine cause of the problem we managed to use the emergency door release (red tab) and in doing so completely wrenching the red tab off/out. All looked good until I set to do another washing load and was immediately presented with the F:57, this time having no way to open the door. One week later I managed to get a technician who advised this was a 'fatal error'.

Either the motor or control module was to blame, nothing to do but try and replace both. At the quoted price of $900+ I think I may be shopping for a new washing machine - thinking not a Bosch! Very poor quality for a $1,900 machine, certainly expected more than a 5 year life span, obviously German technology no longer the standard one would expect.and I have a load of washing in the machine that I can't rescue - technician suggested I break the door to get to it as there is no way to get it out otherwise!! Like most people here I have the following 3 main issues: After about 5 years we got the dreaded F57 error that everyone seems to be getting around this time. This hasnt been fixed yet. The front is rusted badly and on removing the covers I found that it has extended to inside the washing machine.
The front seal is very mouldy, no matter what we try and clean it with. Extremely difficult to remove and the price for a new one is a quarter of the price of the entire machine. For a premium price this is certainly not a premium product.
The lifetime of a machine like this should be at least 10 years. My other complaint about this is we find we always have to press the 'add extra water' option.
If you keep it on the eco setting to save water with a full load, some parts of clothes come out dry. On the plus side, if you do add the extra water, it does clean the clothes well and it is quiet. I bought my Bosch in 2012 & now the gasket has failed. Previously, I had a cheap $500 NEC that lasted me 8 years with a hiccup.

I am extremely disappointed in the quality of Bosch, I paid $1800 for this 'quality product'. I would not recommend Bosch as I think you can purchase another cheaper brand for less that would be more reliable. $118 for the part + service call + time. This will probably cost me around $250 & no washing for 7-10 days while waiting for the part. Not good enough Bosch! I bought this machine just over four years ago. It came highly recommended by the sales person - German made, reliable, will last for years.
Six days ago it stopped mid wash. The control panel completely died, the clothes were stuck inside and the door would not open so I called Bosch.
I was told the machine was out of warranty and I would have to pay for a service person to out, which would take one week. I called another company, which was recommended by Bosch, and they sent someone out the following day.
I was informed the motherboard has died and this was a common problem for these machines. The call out fee was $155.70 and it will cost an additional $405 to get the motherboard replaced. I am extremely disappointed that Bosch believe it is acceptable that a machine I purchased for $1900 should only last four years and cost a further $560.70 to get fixed. I have gone ahead with the repair and my next call is to consumer affairs.

Bought our Bosch washing machine in 2011. It had a 'catastrophic' failure just out of warranty. It burnt out the motor driver board and locked the door so we couldn't retrieve the wet washing. In this instance, the red emergency release chord released the door. To be fair to Bosch, they came to the party on this. Yesterday, my sister who is staying with us, wrenched and broke the door handle. To open the door.
I had to strip the front off the machine to be able to release the lock and in doing so, damaged the door switch. A stupid design. It seems that if anything untoward happens to this machine, it locks the door - very European. I bought my Bosch washer for 4 years. It was recommended by the salesman whom explained the price is expensive but is reliable. Within these 4 years, the machine spoilt for 3 times. Now encounter E57 error appear in the middle of washing.
No matter what program i turn to, this error code keeps appear and the machine is not working. Sucks.call for service technician is also so expensive, about $90 incl. My friend told me LG and Panasonic service call is not so expensive, for ard $55.
I feel like throwing away the washer but a bit painful for the high price i paid. Thru my experience, i will never buy Bosch machine again. Bought this Washing Machine a Couple of years ago. The E&S Trading Salesman said Can't go past this Machine. Ticks all the boxes.
Made in Germany. Awesome - Great - Reliable. Failed to mention that it rusts at the bottom of the door opening and it is growing. $2000 Washer That Starts Rusting after a couple of years. After reading many of the other Reviews it is due to Break down soon ( 3 + Years ) and Require Expensive Repairs My Sister bought the same model soon after I did and had problems in the first few months and it had to be replaced. My Advice is ' Do Not Buy any overpriced Bosch Appliance!! ' and when you think about it.
A 2 year warranty for such an expensive machine is crap. Four years ago we bought a Bosch front loader. At the time we had several other Bosch appliances. However after four years we have had three repairs performed and the third one was the motor. For a very expensive front loader where we could have had a top loader for literally half the price I can express our disappointment. Perhaps the most disappointing part is that when Bosch was contacted they simply said that it was out of warranty. If this is the case then Bosch believe under their statutory warranty that their washers should only last four years.
Buyers beware. I bought the Bosch WAS32742AU and loved it UNTIL it got to be 3.5 years old!!! Then it broke down! I called Bosch it was out 2yr warranty period so deal with extended warranty co.!!
It is now 3 weeks later and still my machine not fixed!! They say the pump and electronic panel needs replacing!!! How can this be after only 3 years???? My previous machine was a Maytag and it never broke down in 20 yrs!!! WHY is the warranty period only 2 years if its such a well made product??? I will NEVER buy BOSCH again. You could buy an LG for half the price and it would last longer.

Seems there are similar problems with other Bosch washing machine too. I bought Bosch logixx 8 varioperfect, made in Germany about 3 years ago and I paid about over $2ooo Australian dollars.I was expecting that this machine will work for many years because even the sales person told me 'you will never come back for another one.
Right know this machine started making noise when is doing final spin. I stop machine and remove all clothes from it and start again empty. The machine worked again good and then I put back clothes in, just normal load, not heavy and again noise when does final spin. I tried to contact Bosch Australia and they give me a few places to call. I rang them and they all want $120 dollars just for service call for about 15 min just to come plus ongoing costs which I do not know how much is it going to be. I am very disappointed that paying more then $2000 dollars and have this problems after just 3 years. Dear Bosch can you pl.
Try to help people like me to fix this problem and tell us more clearly how much I have to pay before booking services without knowing how much really I have to pay. This is unacceptable. So disappointed with this machine. We paid a lot of money for this machine as our F&P machine died after 3 years. After 3 years with our Bosch, our machine died - we got a F57 error and the door release couldn't open the door which was full of our wet washing. The door broke (cost to replaced $250 +gst) and the F57 indicated that the motor control unit needed to be replaced. Total cost of replacement parts $750!
Parts are in Melbourne and so it would be another week at least for our machine to be repaired. Add $110 service call and that's a huge outlay for an appliance we were hoping to last a good many years. We bought this machine 9 months ago. I fell in love with it immediately. It's quiet (apart from the repetitive beep when it's done which can get even my husband to hang out the washing), economical, it washes the clothes very well and the design is terrific.
Had I reviewed it at that point I would have given it 4 or even 5 stars. I even noticed that our water consumption dropped on the bill. After 9 months however, it stopped working, mid-cycle, complete with a weird electrical burning smell. I called Bosch, thinking $1655 machine, top of the range model, reputable company - should be fixed quickly, right? What has followed has been a catalogue of disasters, from the initial 'sorry our computers are down but we'll out a call through for you on Monday' to taking 4 working days to courier a part from Melbourne to Sydney. It's now been two weeks since the machine broke and I am still waiting for the machine to be repaired. When you have two children, this not a good situation!

So in short, based on their reliability (or lack of) and very slow customer service (even an email to Bosch gets an automated reply saying 'we'll reply within a few days' - what does that tell you?!), I wouldn't buy Bosch again.
